Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD), also known as “Catechism,” provides our Catholic children enrolled in public school or home school with the opportunity to grow in their faith, develop lifelong friendships, and learn about their Catholic heritage.
Two years of religious education are required for children who are preparing for the sacraments (usually 1st & 2nd grades for First Communion, and 7th & 8th grades for Confirmation). Registration starts in September. Please contact the Parish Office to register.
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process for non-Catholics to join the Church.
The first step to become Catholic is to start attending Mass, and to register with the Parish Office. New members attend group classes over a year starting in September to prepare for Easter Vigil, plus additional classes through May to support growing faith development. The process involves choosing a sponsor, reflecting on scripture, becoming involved in prayer and action at the parish, and learning about the sacraments. Married or previously married people also need to meet with the Pastor to address marriage validation.
New members are welcome to join the process and attend classes at any time! Returning Catholics and regular parishioners often find the classes help them better understand their faith and grow in their relationship with Christ. Parishioners are encouraged to invite adults or older children that are interested in converting to the Catholic faith to attend RCIA. Classes are open to the public, and upcoming topics are published in the Church bulletin and Facebook page.

To join RCIA, please fill out the registration form or contact the parish office.
Our Lady of Peace Parish coordinates or promotes retreats for evangelization, catechists, and much more. Our pastoral staff is also available to present or lead prayer for community groups hosting spiritual events.
Annual retreats are also held for sacramental preparation, including First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and RCIA. You must register for these faith formation programs to attend the retreats.
All parishioners are encouraged to participate in a Bible Study, particularly to reflect on the Sunday Gospel readings. If you would like help finding or starting a Bible Study, please contact the Parish Office.
Parishioner George Richards hosts a 6-week Bible study every Fall and Spring on Thursday evenings. The only cost is for the Bible study book. New classes are advertised in the parish bulletin, calendar, and Facebook page.
